One day, during a holiday, George's manager, Jayan, asked him to take care of his Labrador dog. George was thrilled to help, even though he didn't have all the things a dog needed at his home.
As days passed, Jayan noticed how much George loved dogs and shared exciting news with him. He told George about a dog shelter in Kollam where George might find the perfect puppy. Jayan had visited the shelter and met a caring caretaker who promised to give George a puppy for free once a pregnant mother dog had her babies.
George was overjoyed and eagerly waited for a whole month, imagining what his new puppy would be like. He even thought of a name for the puppy, inspired by a dog he had known before. When the day finally came, George called the caretaker and was told he could come to the shelter to pick up his new furry friend.

On their way home, the sky suddenly turned dark, and heavy rain started to fall. George hurried to find shelter under a shop's awning, holding the puppy close to keep it dry and warm. Despite the rain, George felt nothing but happiness as he looked down at the puppy snuggled against him.
That night, George and Chikkoo, as he had named the puppy, arrived home. They spent their first evening together playing and getting to know each other. From that day on, Chikkoo became George's best friend and constant companion.
